Thoth and Ma'at: Together Again

On the evening of Saturday 3/26 Reese Witherspoon married Hollywood agent Jim Toth at her ranch in Ojai, California.

First, to state the obvious, the name Toth gives us instant sync reveberations to the Egyptian god Thoth.

The ancient Greeks equated Thoth with their god Hermes, adding yet another link to the chain of the Messenger meme that has been developing recently (see previous post Mercury Rising and the Messenger Cometh).
[Thoth] played many vital and prominent roles in Egyptian mythology, such as maintaining the universe, and being one of the two deities (the other being Ma'at, who was also his wife) who stood on either side of Ra's boat.—Wikipedia
Jim Toth is resonating Thoth, and his new wife Reese Witherspoon is resonating as our modern-day archetype for the goddess Ma'at.

According to Egyptian mythology Thoth and Ma'at stood on either side of Ra's solar boat...

...just as Witherspoon (an Oscar-winning actress) and Toth (a high-powered Hollywood agent) work on opposite sides of the cameRA.

Ma'at was Ancient Egypt's "Golden Girl". She embodied the concepts of Truth, Balance, Order, Law, Morality, and Justice represented as a young woman.

She was often pictured holding a was scepter, the symbol of power, in one hand and an ankh, the symbol of eternal life, in the other.

Ma'at was also sometimes depicted with wings on each arm or wearing the "feather of Truth" on her head.

Reese Witherspoon with a shoulder bird in the 2004 movie 'Vanity Fair'.

Reese is rumored to be co-starring alongside Tom Cruise in the upcoming movie 'Paper Wings'.

Noteworthy too is the fact that Witherspoon's home is located in the California town of Ojai, which means "Valley of the Moon".

Synchromystically, this aligns with her very first major movie role as Dani Trant in the 1987 film "The Man in the Moon".

Dani falls in love with a neighbor boy who later dies in a nasty tractor incident (spoiler...sorry)—an allusion to the symbiotic relationship between Ma'at and the god of the underworld Osiris (who was dismembered by Set).

Reese's association with the Moon also connects us to the movie E.T. (where the alien's favorite food is Reese's Pieces).

Which, of course, ties in with the death of Elizabeth Taylor (E.T.) on 3/23.

The guys over at The Sync Whole blog recently expounded on the link between Taylor, the superstar actress with the "Big Heart", and the alien E.T.'s big glowing Heart in a new video [at 3:37 in the video].

This gives us a crucial clue to the Heart-related syncs that started emerging with the Class X Solar Flare on Valentine's Day 2/14 and culminated with the Sendai earthquake/tsunami in Japan on 3/11. (see my previous post The Heartquake)

In the Duat, the Egyptian underworld, the HEARTS of the dead were said to be weighed against the single "Feather of Ma'at" in the divine court of Osiris.

Thus, the emergence of the Ma'at archetype at this time seems to signal the weighing of our Collective Heart/Earth Consciousness against basic Universal values and principals (see Maat: 42 Negative Confessions).

In order to pass the test, the Heart must be lighter than the feather, empty of all the weight of the world.

A few words of advice: Think Light.

Cleopatra addendum:
Cista (or cista mystica), a basket used for housing sacred snakes in connection with the initiation ceremony into the cult of Bacchus (Dionysus). In the Dionysian mysteries a serpent, representing the god, was carried in a box called a cista on a bed of vine leaves. This may be the Cista mentioned by Clement of Alexandria which was exhibited as containing the phallus of Dionysus. The cista mentioned in the mysteries of Isis may also have held a serpent, the missing phallus of Osiris....

Several ancient dignitaries put about the rumour that they had been fathered by a god in serpent form. The emperor Augustus was said to have been fathered by a snake, and his mother never afterwards lost the marks of its embrace. A serpent was said to have been found beside the sleeping Olympias, mother of Alexander the Great. Her husband, Philip of Macedon, is reputed never to have coupled with the 'Bride of the Serpent' again. Alexander is sometimes connected with the horned serpent.
(Numiswiki, "Cista Mystica")
Plutarch ... reports that ... [Cleopatra] was found dead, her handmaiden Iras dying at her feet, and another handmaiden, Charmion, adjusting her crown before she herself fell.[49] He then goes on to state that an asp was concealed in a basket of figs that was brought to her by a rustic, and, finding it after eating a few figs, she held out her arm for it to bite.... in Octavian's triumphal march back in Rome, an effigy of Cleopatra that had an asp clinging to it was part of the parade. ("Cleopatra")

(Christine Mitchell Havelock, The Aphrodite of Knidos and Her Successors)
Isis and the serpents share a long history. In the beginning, the word for "deity" was composed of the god or goddess's name and the small image of a snake, most likely a cobra. There is some speculation that the pharaohs of Egypt were ritually sacrificed at the end of their term, and that the Sed festival, or jubilee, was originally the moment of truth for the pharaoh, who would celebrate his reign and then accept the bite of a poisonous asp. While direct evidence for this practice is scanty now, it is interesting that Cleopatra chose this method to end her own life when she believed that it was futile for her to attempt to continue her rule of Egypt. eye KNew it when eye SAW it....

Just as I was tying some things together, I was delighted to come here and see Eleleth's post with Cleopatra saying:
"With thy sharp teeth this KNOT intrinsicate
Of life at once untie"

The names of the celebrities that have passed in the last week seem to all be leading toward the same theme - relating to last weeks post about the Mercury Messenger.

Knut the Polar Bear (12/5/2006 – 3/19/2011):
A knot is how you tie/connect things together, bringing them to union.
In Alvin Boyd Kuhn's work on The Esoteric Structure of the Alphabet, although it is hard to summarize, he is connecting and exploring that many of our words can be traced to the spelling and symbolism of the ANKH. And he points out that other KN/NK words (as well as NG) all have that same root to tying/connecting. He says, "Next comes one that carries an impressive significance in the study, the common verb to know, in Greek gnosco, German kennen, English ken. What constitutes the knowing act? The joining together of two things..." and "The Greek for Messenger, one who ties the sender with the recipient of a message, is angelos, from which is our angel. And messenger itself has the NG in it."

The legendary bluesman Pinetop Perkins (7/7/1913– 3/21/2011):
Pine Top reminds me of the PINEal gland, the Third EYE and CROWN chakra. The Pineal Gland, the Magician Tarot card, Mercury, and the Hebrew letter Beth are all intimately tied. Pinetop also contributed to a blues album called "Eye to Eye".

Elizabeth Taylor (2/27/1932 – 3/23/2011):
Her name also connects to the Hebrew letter Beth, Mercury, the Magician Tarot card, and the Pineal Gland. And her last name, Taylor, means tailor/to cut.

The past tense of to SEE is SAW, which is also the name of a cutting tool. Nature creates by sawing/cutting/dividing.

Also, recently Sibyl tweeted:
"1st U.S. National Spelling Bee champ died today at 97. His winning WORD? "Gladiolus" (Latin for Sword). SWORD=The WORD"

Amazing! Another cutting tool.

I noticed that Gladiolus also means "wild IRIS"
Iris is connected to seeing by the naming of the Iris of the eye, and the Online Etymology Dictionary even says it originally meant MESSENGER OF THE GODS (oh hello Mercury/Hermes)
"late 14c., "prismatic rock crystal," from L. iris (pl. irides) "iris of the eye, iris plant, rainbow," from Gk. iris (gen. iridos) "a lily, iris of the eye," originally "messenger of the gods," personified as the rainbow. The eye region was so called (1520s in English) for being the colored part"
"The highest function of Mercury, the mind, is to awaken the Pineal Gland..." - The Rabbi's Tarot
"No Sword can be properly regarded as complete without its appropriate knot" - Sword historian B.
I've been grooving on "Eye of Horus" syncs all week! It began with "Behind Blue Eyes" by the Who, and then to "Who are you?" I look in the mirror to see who I Am, which is always reflecting back at me.

How to become King: cut the knot.
"Alexander advanced on Egypt in later 332 BC, where he was regarded as a liberator. He was pronounced the new 'master of the Universe' and son of the deity of Amun at the Oracle of Siwa Oasis in the Libyan desert. Henceforth, Alexander often referred to Zeus-Ammon as his true father, and subsequent currency depicted him adorned with ram horns as a symbol of his divinity."
(Pseudo-Callisthenes, "letter from Alexander to his mother")
"Our experience of chakras or centers is limited due to knots which restrict the flow of energy into these centers. Three knots are particularly important.

The knot of Brahma which restricts the center at the base of the spine.
The knot of Vishnu which restricts the heart center.
The knot of Rudra which restricts the center between the eyebrows.

While all the Mysteries recognized the heart as the center of spiritual consciousness, they often purposely ignored this concept and used the heart in its exoteric sense as the symbol of the emotional nature, In this arrangement the generative center represented the physical body, the heart the emotional body, and the brain the mental body. The brain represented the superior sphere, but after the initiates had passed through the lower degrees they were instructed that the brain was the proxy of the spiritual flame dwelling in the innermost recesses of the heart. The student of esotericism discovers ere long that the ancients often resorted to various blinds to conceal the true interpretations of their Mysteries. The substitution of the brain for the heart was one of these blinds.

The three degrees of the ancient Mysteries were, with few exceptions, given in chambers which represented the three great centers of the human and Universal bodies. If possible, the temple itself was constructed in the form of the human body. The candidate entered between the feet and received the highest degree in the point corresponding to the brain. Thus the first degree was the material mystery and its symbol was the generative system; it raised the candidate through the various degrees of concrete thought. The second degree was given in the chamber corresponding to the heart, but represented the middle power which was the mental link. Here the candidate was initiated into the mysteries of abstract thought and lifted as high as the mind was capable of penetrating. He then passed into the third chamber, which, analogous to the brain, occupied the highest position in the temple but, analogous to the heart, was of the greatest dignity. In the brain chamber the heart mystery was given. Here the initiate for the first time truly comprehended the meaning of those immortal words: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."
(Manly P.Hall)
I am the Heart; and the Snake is entwined
About the invisible core of the mind.
Rise, O my snake! It is now is the hour
Of the hooded and holy ineffable flower.
Rise, O my snake, into brilliance of bloom
On the corpse of Osiris afloat in the tomb!
O heart of my mother, my sister, mine own,
Thou art given to Nile, to the terror Typhon!
Ah me! but the glory of ravening storm
Enswathes thee and wraps thee in frenzy of form.
Be still, O my soul! that the spell may dissolve
As the wands are upraised, and the æons revolve.
Behold! in my beauty how joyous Thou art,
O Snake that caresses the crown of mine heart!
(Aleister Crowley)
Dost thou not see my baby at my breast ...?

In today's headlines we see the Ram(Rahm) "cutting in half" to produce two "Stars" where there was once one Knot(Knut)
I had looked at the Gordian Knot as it related to Ozymandias and the BlueMan, and connected it to Mercury, nuclear disaster and Japan back in January.
OZymandias was also known as RAMesses the Great (echoing Alexander the Great).
Eleleth has made a study of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, yet it was her husband Percy Shelley who wrote the classic Ozymandias sonnet.
It is interesting to note that Shelley's verse was produced at same time as that of Horace (Horus) Smith.

Shelley also brings us to Venus or Isis on the half-shell and of course Shell Oil.
Or in this case Shelley Oyl, lover of Pop(TheFather)Eye.
Robbin Williams also plays the Fisher King, with it's obvious parallels to Osiris or variants of "the lame god."

Napoleon would go on to try and take the Statue of Ozymandias (OZ-Man-Diety) known as "the younger Memnon," failing to extract it from the Earth (see also extracting Oil and/or "Prima Meteria to Prima Terra."
The men who would succeed in extracting the younger Memon were SALT and Belzoni. As always, Tom Waits lyrics bring it together, in this case with the "Saw mill" and BO(Sun/Obama).
I worked for nothin in a
Belzoni saw mill. I caught a
Blind out on the B and O
Talullah's friendly Belzoni ain't so
A 44'll get you 99

In the Greco-Roman /Egyptian battle for supremacy we saw with Cleopatra, the next step would have to echo the Fisher King.
Wiki: It was later acquired from Salt in 1821 by the British Museum and was at first displayed in the old Townley Galleries (now demolished) for several years, then installed (using heavy ropes and lifting equipment and with help from the Royal Engineers) in 1834 in the new Egyptian Sculpture Gallery (now Room 4, where it now resides). The soldiers were commanded by a Waterloo veteran, Major Charles Cornwallis Dansey, lame from a wound sustained there, who therefore sat whilst commanding them. On its arrival there, it could be said to be the first piece of Egyptian sculpture to be recognized as a work of art rather than a curiosity low down in the chain of art (with ancient Greek art at the pinnacle of this chain).
There's also Agamemnon, which ties back to The Iliad, which I've been reading lately, and the Trojan War.

Paris, which I have been harping on, is also known as Alexander or Alexandros. And it is he who wounds Achilles in the heel, ala the Fisher King.
And indeed, Iris plays a large role in The Iliad, where she "seems to often usurp the functions of Hermes."
And, as Here makes her case to Zeus, that Troy should lose the battle, she says, "The three towns I love best are Argos, Sparta, and Mycenae of the broad streets. Sack those, if ever they become obnoxious to you. I shall not grudge you their destruction nor make a stand on their behalf."
Shortly after reading that passage, I see this news:

In all this, I keep looking for "the Second Sun," what I would consider the counterpart to the solar-resonating Japanese event. After Cleopatra was highlighted, I thought of her son Alexander Helios.
Perhaps I should be looking instead for the split of one into two.

One sun, two suns.

"The Paris Needle ('L'aiguille de Cléopâtre') is in the Place de la Concorde. The centre of the Place is occupied by the giant Egyptian obelisk decorated with hieroglyphics exalting the reign of the pharaoh Ramesses II."

Note the Ark of the Covenant.
A brief explication of the Secret Doctrine: Moses is Dorothy, YHWH is the Wizard. Moses going to Mt. Sinai (Sin Eye) and receiving the Law is equivalent to Dorothy traveling to the Emerald City and being told that she must bring the broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West (Moses' Rod, the caduceus). The task of the Initiate is to transform YHWH into YHShWH (Jesus), the name of the Serpent-Messiah, by adding the holy letter Shin.
That part of the body from the kidneys downward was termed by the early Qabbalists the Land of Egypt into which the children of Israel were taken during the captivity. Out of Egypt, Moses (the illuminated mind, as his name implies) led the tribes of Israel (the twelve faculties) by raising the brazen serpent in the wilderness upon the symbol of the Tau cross. Not only CHiram but the god-men of nearly every pagan Mystery ritual are personifications of the Spirit Fire in the human spinal cord. (Manly P.Hall)
Osarseph (also spelled Osarsiph) is a legendary figure of Ancient Egypt who has been equated with Moses. His story was recounted by the Ptolemaic Egyptian historian Manetho in his Aigyptiaca (first half of the 3rd century BC); Manetho's work is lost, but the 1st century AD Jewish historian Josephus quotes extensively from it.... According to Josephus, Manetho described Osarseph as a tyrannical high priest of Osiris at Heliopolis.

Their chief is blind; because of his power and his ignorance and his arrogance he said, with his power, "It is I who am God; there is none apart from me." When he said this, he sinned against the entirety. And this speech got up to incorruptibility; then there was a voice that came forth from incorruptibility, saying, "You are mistaken, Samael" - which is, "god of the blind."
