22's Day

Surely he hath borne our Griefs and carried our Sorrows; Yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of GOD and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:4)

And the Goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a Land not inhabited. (Leviticus 16:22)

22 = 0?

"Well, you know I came out in '82, when I was 22, so that is indeed some catch."

The Noble Tale of the Sangreal

The Mabinogion is a collection of Welch tales that date anywhere from the fifth century BC through the thirteenth century. Part of this collection is the tale of Peredur, another name for Perceval, the grail knight, involving the search for the grail. In this story the grail is a platter which holds the severed head of a man who had been killed by a sorceress, probably an allusion to the death of John the Baptist....

It has been alleged that the Knights Templar were, at some point in their history, the keepers of the Shroud and/or the Holy Grail, and given the above evidence, that may very well have been the case. Among the accusations brought against various Knights during their trial was that they worshiped the head or face of a man, which was called “baphomet.” One of these paintings on a wooden panel still exists in Templecombe, a Templar preceptory in Somerset England, and bears a striking resemblance to the face on the Shroud, although the picture may not have originated from the Templars. (Unholy Grail, "The True Holy Grail")

The Scapegoat (Obama Sin Laden)

How little the philosophy of the old secret doctrine was understood, is illustrated in the atrocious persecutions of the Templars by the Church, and in the accusation of their worshipping the Devil under the shape of the goat — Baphomet! Without going into the old Masonic mysteries, there is not a Mason — of those we mean who do *know something* — but has an idea of the true relation that Baphomet bore to Azâzêl, the scapegoat of the wilderness, whose character and meaning are entirely perverted in the Christian translations. The indictment (acte d'accusation) published by the court of Rome set forth ... "that in all the provinces they had idols, that is to say, heads, some of which had three faces, others but one; sometimes, it was a human skull ... That in their assemblies, and especially in their grand chapters, they worshipped the idol as a god, as their saviour, saying that this head could save them, that it bestowed on the order all its wealth, made the trees flower, and the plants of the earth to sprout forth." ("Baphomet")

Rashid ad-Din Sinan, also known as The Old Man of the Mountain (c. 1132/1135 - 1192) was one of the leaders of the Syrian wing of the Hashshashin sect and a figure in the history of the Crusades.... Based on the Nizari stronghold Masyaf, he controlled various districts in northern Syria ... His chief enemy was the Sultan Saladin, who ruled over Egypt and Syria.

Always with the goats.

The Assassins (Arabic: الحشاشين‎ Ḥashāshīn, also Hashishin or Hashashiyyin, Persian: حشیشیون / Hašišiyun (UniPers)) were an order of Nizari Ismailis, particularly those of Syria and Persia that existed from around 1092 to 1265. Posing a strong military threat to Sunni Saljuq authority within the Persian territories, the Nizari Ismailis captured and inhabited many mountain fortresses under the leadership of the Persian Hassan-i Sabbah.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. (Galatians 4:26)

—He will look at the city which is within him, and take heed that no disorder occur in it, such as might arise either from superfluity or from want; and upon this principle he will regulate his property and gain or spend according to his means....

—I understand; you mean that he will be a ruler in the city of which we are the founders, and which exists in idea only; for I do not believe that there is such an one anywhere on earth?

—In heaven, I replied, there is laid up a pattern of it, methinks, which he who desires may behold, and beholding, may set his own house in order. But whether such an one exists, or ever will exist in fact, is no matter; for he will live after the manner of that city, having nothing to do with any other.

The leviathan is prominent in the haggadic literature in connection with the advent of the Messiah. Referring to Job xl. 30 (Hebr.), "and the pious ones shall make a banquet of it," R. Johanan says that at the time of the resurrection a banquet will be given by God to the righteous, at which the flesh of the leviathan will be served (B. B. l.c.). Even the hunting of the leviathan will be a source of great enjoyment to the righteous. Those, says R. Judan bar Simon, who have not taken part in pagan sports will be allowed to participate in the hunting of the leviathan and of the behemoth (Lev. R. xiii. 3).

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. In January 2011, the constellation Ophiuchus was brought into mainstream consciousness.

Ophiuchus is depicted as a man with a snake
Or Snake/Grail:
Ophiuchus/Asclepius - a healer (student of Chiron) who raised the dead - according to one version, with the blood from the neck of the serpent haired Medusa/Gorgon.
And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:17-18)

Numbers 21:4-9
They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; 5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”
6 Then the LORD sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. 7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.
8 The LORD said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.
2 Kings 18:4 "He hath turned aside the high places, and broken in pieces the standing-pillars, and cut down the shrine, and beaten down (broke in pieces) the brazen serpent that Moses made, for unto these days were the sons of Israel making perfume to it, and he calleth it נהשתן (Nehushtan).

John 3:14 (Pi)
"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Archangel Michael who also is often depicted slaying the serpent/dragon/satan, "taught Enoch the mysteries of clemency and justice"
Ophiuchus, as mentioned before, is also known as Asclepius, which means "unceasingly gentle"
clemency = "from L. clementia "calmness, gentleness, from clemens "calm, mild,""
(*Also, just thought I would add a fun little personal connection here, my(Crystal) maiden name is Clemens.)
Among the few outside witnesses who appeared before the papal commission in 1310-11, was Antonio Sicci of Vercelli, imperial and apostolic notary, who forty years before had served the Templars in Syria in that capacity, and had recently been employed in the case by the Inquisition of Paris. Among his Eastern experiences he gravely related a story current in Sidon that a lord of that city once loved desperately but fruitlessly a noble maiden of Armenia; she died, and, like Periander of Corinth, on the night of her burial he opened her tomb and gratified his passion [= alchemical coniunctio]. A mysterious voice said, "Return in nine months and you will find a head, your son!" In due time he came back and found a human head in the tomb, when the voice said, "Guard this head, for all your good-fortune will come from it!"
This volume in the Revolutions Series presents Jesus Christ as a figure akin to revolutionaries like Robespierre, Marx, and Che Guevara. In this new presentation of the Gospels, Terry Eagleton makes a powerful and provocative argument for Jesus Christ as a social, political and moral radical, a friend of anti-imperialists, outcasts and marginal, a champion of the poor, the sick and immigrants, and as an opponent of the rich, religious hierarchs, and hypocrites everywhere - in other words, as a figure akin to revolutionaries like Robespierre, Marx, and Che Guevara.
Chiron/Christ the punk.
Antero Alli makes the connection between Chiron and the Punk Movement, as the comet was discovered in 1977.
In his book Astrologik, he says:
"The 'punk quality' seems (to the Punk Within) spiritually anarchistic and playfully sinister....Punk is playfully sinister in a similar way that Cabalists...relate THE DEVIL card in the Tarot to the conciousness symbolized by AYIN (the 16th Hebrew letter) meaning 'mirth.'...Perhaps the satyr, or the centaur phase of our human psychological development, refers to Chiron. Semantically, the word satire comes from satyr, the goat-man-god" (Capricorn/Saturn) sacrificed to the Earth Mother (Taurus) in ancient pagan rituals. Ironically, or chirotically, the word 'tragedy' comes from tragos, or goat-song. Tell me someone named "Johnny Rotten didn't have a sense of humor."
Parzival joins his Muslim half-brother, Feirefiz
The last chapter of Parzival is packed with surprizing developments. We learn that the end of the Quest for the Grail is the beginning of another Quest, which is now ongoing. Both historically and timelessly, those who choose to engage with the Grail Legend are carried into another episode, toward a future myth. As Hesse wrote in the first line of Journey to the East, "It was my destiny to join in a great experience...." In fact, the continuation of the Grail Quest does lead in just that direction, toward the East.Wolfram says that after winning the Grail, healing Amfortas, and assuming the throne of Grail King, Parzival immediately abdicated his role and turned the Grail over to his half-brother, Feirefiz ("pied son"), who took it to India and presented it to Prester John, the mysterious regent of a kingdom beyond the Himalayas.... After giving the sacred artifact of the Grail to Feirefiz, Parzival entrusted to his son, Lohengrin, the secret of the mission that remained after the Grail was won. (John Lash)
Other theories about Acts' sources are more controversial. Some historians believe that Acts borrows phraseology and plot elements from Euripides' play The Bacchae.
I want to write a little. I want to talk about consciousness both simple consciousness and a more sophisticated consciousness. I'm thinking of this in light of "our" response to the recent killing of Bin Laden. A simple consciousness deals in certainty (classical physics). Black or White? Good or Evil? One's state is definite and one defines themselves as "The Good Guys" and tries to keep "The Shadow" at bay (of course it always comes rushing in for those who can't accept their own darkness).
To be or not to be? A more complex form of consciousness has an awareness of their own shadow, but clings to the certainties of classical physics. Particle or wave, can't be both . . . The duality tears apart the individual that seeks to reconcile the opposites in their mind. That's the trick though.
Of course modern physics deals in possibilities, not certainty. Things are entangled which is why I don't know how to respond to this bold action taken by our president in what appears to be a political move for his midterm election. Maybe we all need to read Camus again? The haunting line for me now is, "and where we had thought to find anabomination, we shall find a god."
Did the old god just die again for our sins? And do we ever learn? Or did we do just that?
Perhaps this truly was Childhood's End, and those devils were trying to help us . . .
"Who art thou?" demands the Adam.
"I," the serpent answers, "am Satan who was stoned; I am the Adversary--the Lord who is against you, the one who pleads for your destruction before the Eternal Tribunal. I was your enemy upon the day that you were formed; I have led you into temptation; I have delivered you into the hands of evil; I have maligned you; I have striven ever to achieve your undoing. I am the guardian of the Tree of Knowledge and I have sworn that none whom I can lead astray shall partake of its fruits."
The Adam replies: "For uncounted ages have I been thy servant. In my ignorance I listened to thy words and they led me into paths of sorrow. Thou hast placed in my mind dreams of power, and when I struggled to realize those dreams they brought me naught but pain. Thou hast sowed in me the seeds of desire, and when I lusted after the things of the flesh agony was my only recompense. Thou hast sent me false prophets and false reasoning, and when I strove to grasp the magnitude of Truth I found thy laws were false and only dismay rewarded my strivings. I am done with thee forever, O artful Spirit! I have tired of thy world of illusions. No longer will I labor in thy vineyards of iniquity. Get thee behind me, rempter, and the host of thy temptations. There is no happiness, no peace, no good, no future in the doctrines of selfishness, hate, and passion preached by thee. All these things do I cast aside. Renounced is thy rule forever!"
And the serpent makes answer: "Behold, O Adam, the nature of thy Adversary!" The serpent disappears in a blinding sunburst of radiance and in its place stands an angel resplendent in shining, golden garments with great scarlet wings that spread from one corner of the heavens to the other. Dismayed and awestruck, the Adam falls before the divine creature.
"I am the Lord who is against thee and thus accomplishes thy salvation, " continues the voice. "Thou hast hated me, but through the ages yet to be thou shalt bless me, for I have led thee our of the sphere of the Demiurgus; I have turned thee against the illusion of worldliness; I have weaned thee of desire; I have awakened in thy soul the immortality of which I myself partake. Follow me, O Adam, for I am the Way, the Life, and the Truth!"
  5. The Fool card in the tarot is thought of sometimes as both the zero card and the twenty second card.
    it's the alpha and omega again. It's the same place, same guy--birth and death somehow the same thing . . .
    of course, I splatter the walls liberally--not really understanding what I'm doing as it happens at times. so, if something seems off, it likely is
    the interesting thing about this space though, is how tightly everything still seems to be adhering--like we are all communally working toward the same end, thus the connections stay relevant yielding more information as the thread unwinds. maybe
    that or i'm crazy.
  6. PAKISTAN = NATSI KAP
    I always go at these things backwards. The fact that bin Laden was the "scapegoat" should've been the first thing I thought of, instead of the last. The Pet Goat appears to be eating Scrooge's cane and Holden's red hunting cap.
    Sibyl: The supreme magickal formula of the Tarot is 0=1, according to Mathers, as the Fool is the first card but labelled 0.
  8. The Templars, historically, were never accused of worshipping Baphomet in the form of a goat as Blavatsky claims--nor did it probably mean "Baptism of Wisdom"--but for some reason, the Myth is as important as so-called Reality.
  9. The Fool did indeed confront his Shadow during the last Presidential election. The taking of the "head" refers to a change in consciousness arising from having harnessed the serpent fire represented by the devil--"hence they say it is that the statue of Horus at Coptos grasps in one hand Typhon’s virilia."
  11. I'm suddenly looking at the Fool and how he's always walking off a cliff. Mainly because most of my big dreams over the past year or more involve driving/walking/skiing/falling off a cliff! That's the end of the dream, and I wake up.
    I would suppose that 'falling off the cliff' represents ego death, from my admittedly meager understanding of Jung. However, my most recent dream, I sailed off the cliff, and I survived. I saw the cliff was an illusion, and instead of oblivion I got a bath (baptism) in cool, clear, refreshing water.
    This whole Obama Sin Laden ritual has been pretty hard on me. I think on everyone here. I'm at the point where I trust my dreams more than I trust the media?
    There are many references to fire and firemen after the Mayday Beltane ritual, and it is curious that I live in Fire District No. 22.
    OK enough of that just wanted to say 'thanks' and also 1982 was the year that had i 'listened' as i have learned to these last years- i think my life would have been somewhat if not completely different (i was 17) -but maybe i can still learn some things.
    I always think poor PKD (d1982)-that he never really got to 'enjoy' material success out of Blade Runner and all the rest --but then i dont think that was what he was really about either!!
    Similarly, in old Britain, at Beltane, festivities included the election of an “Abbot of Misrule.” Also, at the Epiphany Feast, a cake is made, and a token hidden within one of the slices. Whoever receives this token is the temporary king. He will be treated like royalty for a short time, and then symbolically sacrificed.
