Anne Hathaway (1555/56 – 6 August 1623) was the wife of William Shakespeare. They were married in 1582. She outlived her husband by seven years. Very little is known about her beyond a few references in legal documents, but her personality and relationship to Shakespeare have been the subject of much speculation by historians and creative writers.

(Karen Ralls, Knights Templar Encyclopedia)

The Templar grail knight invokes the Sabbatic Goat Baphomet

Bookseller and Illuminati member Friedrich Nicolai (1733–1811), in Versuch über die beschuldigungen welche dem Tempelherrenorden (1782), was the first to claim that the Templars were Gnostics, and that "Baphomet" was formed from the Greek words βαφη μητȢς, baphe metous, to mean Taufe der Weisheit, "Baptism of Wisdom". ("Baphomet")

Baphe is not a Greek word, ancient or Biblical, that means Wisdom, Initiation, Holy Spirit, Cleansing, or anything normally related to Baptism in everyday speech. Baphe is a noun in Attic Greek that means "dye" as in coloring. However, Baptein means the verb "to dye" as in to color something by dipping it. Baphe, as a word used to mean "Baptism" or Initiation" came after the word Baptismo, a word perculiar to these cults that practiced immersion into water, and it meant what we understand it to mean by Baptism - always by water. It is related to Bahu, but not linguistically as far as anyone knows. The Templars may have originated the use of the word Baphe and stuck it on the word Met after they encoded Sophia with the Atbash Cipher. Not the other way around! If you know that they meant Sophia, you can figure out how they came up with the word Baphomet by using what Schonfield used. (Guardians of Darkness)

The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must destroy a world. The bird flies to God. That God's name is Abraxas.Max Demian

A phoenix is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The new phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self. In some stories, the new phoenix embalms the ashes of its old self in an egg made of myrrh and deposits it in the Egyptian city of Heliopolis (literally "sun-city" in Greek).

We have the ancient Egyptian tale of Cinderella, the "sitter in the ashes," embers or cinders. Sitting in her lonely hutch on earth by the dead embers of the fire, she is the soul come to desolation on earth, stripped of her fire. But she surpasses her sisters and fits herself to be dight with radiance again.... Massey well expounds that "the Savior who came by spirit was the soul of the sun." "This suffering deity was the god in matter." When plunged into matter and ensouling creation, he became Osiris. In this phase he was the stricken one, the dead, lying inert in his mummy-case. He is figured as the "little old child," with finger at mouth, wizened, impotent, decadent, as the sun-god losing his power. He is the Jack of nursery legends, the Scottish Assiepet, the Danish Askepot, the German Aschenpüttel, who pokes in the ashes and blows up the fire, the solar fire which he has to rekindle from dying embers. He is the male Cinderella, the ash or ember maiden. (Alvin Boyd Kuhn)

bird (2)
"maiden, young girl," c.1300, confused with burd (q.v.), but felt by later writers as a figurative use of bird (1). Modern slang meaning "young woman" is from 1915, and probably arose independently of the older word.

Pneuma (πνεύμα) is an ancient Greek word for "breath," and in a religious context for "spirit" or "soul." It is given various technical meanings by medical writers and philosophers of antiquity, including:

  • Pneuma, "air in motion, breath, wind," equivalent in the material monism of Anaximenes to aer (ἀήρ, "air") as the element from which all else originated; the earliest extant occurrence of the term.
  • Pneuma (ancient medicine), the circulating air that is necessary for the systemic functioning of vital organs, according to various medical writers of antiquity.
  • The connate pneuma of Aristotle, the warm mobile "air" that in the sperm transmits the capacity for locomotion and certain sensations to the offspring; see also Vital heat, Spontaneous generation: Aristotle, and On Breath.
  • Pneuma (Stoic), the Stoic philosophical concept of the animating warm breath, in both the cosmos and the body.
In Judaic and Christian usage, pneuma is a common word for "spirit" in the Septuagint and Greek New Testament, and also refers to:
  • The Pneumatic or "spiritual human" of Gnosticism.
  • Pneuma, a concept of Christian pneumatology.

In Homer's Odyssey, Penelope ( /pəˈnɛləpiː/ pə-NEL-ə-pee; Greek: Πηνελόπεια, Pēnelópeia, or Πηνελόπη, Pēnelópē) is the faithful wife of Odysseus, who keeps her suitors at bay in his long absence and is eventually reunited with him.... The origin of her name is believed by some like Robert S. P. Beekes to be Pre-Greek and related to pēnelops (πηνέλοψ) or *pēnelōps (*πηνέλωψ), glossed by Hesychius as "some kind of bird" ... When the contest of the bow begins, none of the suitors is able to string the bow, but Odysseus does, and wins the contest. Having done so, he proceeds to slaughter the suitors – beginning with Antinous whom he finds drinking from Odysseus' cup ...

a quick tidbit here, so funny too cuz I basically just had this conversation with someone explaining this notion. . .

so I recently finished the book
Sex At Dawn which challenges civilization's basic notions about who we were as a species before history and before civilization--basically science as we know it via Darwin is informed by Christianity and his victorian notions about sex, ladies, and propriety.

The authors' do a very in depth study showing how our very bodies have evolved to enable the actual suitor competition to occur at the sperm level. That is, that what is actually best for her body, the mate that is most suited for her and the species--the best match--her body has evolved to determine on its own. And the physiological evolution of the genitals of both males and females is more than a little humorous--love is a battlefield after all. Penelope (inside) is such that she repels all those ill suited advances by the hordes, waiting patiently for
her "O". (I think I've even heard somewhere that she is more likely to conceive if she does actually receive her O.) Odysseus is such that his "arrows" actually kill those other would be suitors. Does he light his final arrow afire, cracking the egg, and causing the phoenix to rise again? Happy Easter all!!!!!
--very nice work Crystal! (thnx for sharing too Smelly!)

Here is some of what I've been working on:
(well, what i've got organized so far)

'Tis the season for resurrecting! Tomorrow many people will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus after he died on the famous cross. Others will be celebrating the fertility of this time of year, with homage to eggs and fertile bunny rabbits, to the time of year when life is springing (resurrecting) and singing from what seemed to be dead earth for months. I was a little slow to realize that this would explain the synchronicities I've experienced recently to the name Lazarus. I took note of the character named Lazarus in the movie Black Snake Moan previously in my yod-eling post. In that film a BLUEs Man named Lazarus (who's wife ROSE leaves him) chains the sexually compulsive Rae (beam of light) to a RADIATOR to "cure her of her wickedness." After watching that film, I had a handful of instances where I heard or read the name Lazarus again, but forgot to record the circumstances and now I have forgotten. But anyhow, the attention to this name is appropriate to the rising season, as Lazarus was the man who was resurrected by Jesus after being deceased for 4 days. This is when Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

The resurgent season also connects to Shin and the The Last Judgment card in the Tarot (also known as The Aeon in Crowley's Thoth Tarot deck). In the Tarot card we can see the dead RISING from their tombs.

"'The Splendor of the Material World. Mercury acting through Fire, upon the Cosmic elements.' In other words this path serves to awaken the Intellectual center (Mercury) in the psyche (Cosmic elements) of the initiate using Yod energy."~

I've had the asteroid/comet Chiron on the brain for a while, pretty much since I have begun studying astrology, but just yesterday as I was reading my new favorite book, "Astrologik" by Antero Alli, I was reminded that Chiron, as derived from chiro- means HAND.

The Hebrew letter Yod means Hand, that tool of creation, and is associated with the sign of Virgo. This connects to Chiron again, as it is thought by some astrologers to be a ruling planet of Virgo (traditionally ruled by Mercury). However, because the small planetary body was only just discovered in 1977, there is still much astrological discussion about the meaning and associations. It seems like a fair association as Chiron was a healer and teacher, which are also qualities of the astrological Virgo energy.

(As a little side note, I also noticed that 1977 = 1+9+7+7 = 24)

Interesting also is that Chiropractors manipulate the SPINE with their hands. Each chakra point aligned with the spine is associated with a color of the RAINBOW. (This connects to a previous post I did at constellation contemplation.)

Barbara Hand Clow has written a thorough book on the astrology of Chiron titled "Chiron: RAINBOW Bridge Between the Inner & Outer Planets". (I need to read this book again, as I read it prior to all of these other connections, and I'm sure there would be even more to stand out now!)

Mythologically, Chiron was the son of Saturn/Cronus and the nymph Philyra . Wikipedia says, "Chiron's lineage was different from other centaurs, who were born of sun and raincloud." Interesting, sun and raincloud often results in a...rainbow.

Chiron is considered the bridge between the inner and outer planets, as it orbits between Saturn, which was  considered the outermost planet of the solar system until the discoveries of the outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. This is significant as Saturn is symbolic of time, structure and form, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are representative of forces beyond the physical realm.

Often a bridge or a rainbow is an ARCH/ARC/BOW. Which makes sense that there would be that association with Chiron, considering that he is an ARCHer, and is often depicted holding a bow and arrow.

Thinking on the arch led me to think about ARCHangels, and then I remembered that the Archangel Michael is considered by some to be the governing Archangel the Sephiroth Hod/Splendor on the Qabalistic Tree of Life in the realm of the Briah/Creative World. (We also saw him in the Last Judgement Tarot Card.)
Hod/Splendor is connected to Malkuth/Kingdom through the path of firey path of Shin.

Weeks ago the red key kept catching my eye, and I was relating it to the cutting tools and the path of Shin as as symbol of initiation. Well look at what the astrological symbol for Chiron is:

So just as Chiron is the bridge between the inner and outer planets - Saturn (Time and Form) and Uranus (Ideas), Shin is also the path/bridge between the Kingdom/Malkuth, the dense, earthy, physical realm (which we all know so well), and Splendor/Hod, the majestic, mercurial, intellect. You can see this mirrored in the makeup of the mythological Chiron himself, as a centaur, that of part instinctual animal (horse) and part wise, immortal, man-like deity.

Chiron, the rainbow bridge is mythologically and astrologically known as "the wounded healer". Astronomically it's orbit is "egg-shaped".

wounded healer

Interesting that in the celebration of Easter we also ritually dye eggs all the colors of the rainbow.

The story of this celebration goes that Jesus rose from the dead after sacrificing himself on a cross (of matter) to save us from our sins.
Sin: O.E. synn "moral wrongdoing, offense against God, misdeed,". Or basically to cross God/Self. When we are born into this world are we not all crucified aka fastened to our own cross to bear, shown by the map of our natal chart?

I find it interesting that in the mythology of Chiron, he also is an immortal that sacrifices himself for mankind, so that humans may have and use the FIRE(Shin) of the gods.  Both stories of Chiron and Jesus seem to be telling of the dedicating oneSelf to division in order to realize Self.

According to some tellings of the myth, after his death and in homage to the healer, Zeus/Jupiter (his half-brother) placed Chiron in the heavens as the constellation Sagittarius, the centaur archer (although some stories say that he was placed in the sky as the constellation Centaurus). In either case, he was resurrected/ascended from earth kingdom to the starry heavens.

The sign of Sagittarius consists of what the ancient Greeks called a centaur--a composite creature, the lower half of whose body was in the form of a horse, while the upper half was human. The centaur is generally shown with a bow and arrow in his hands, aiming a shaft far off into the stars. Hence Sagittarius stands for two distinct principles: first, it represents the spiritual evolution of man, for the human form is rising from the body of the beast; secondly, it is the symbol of aspiration and ambition, for as the centaur aims his arrow at the stars, so every human creature aims at a higher mark than he can reach. Mysterium Baphometis revelatum:

In the religious writings of Kabbalah, Adam Kadmon is a phrase meaning "Primal Man".... There is also a similar concept in Alevi and Sufic philosophy called Insan-i Kamil, the Perfect or Complete Man.... The heavenly man, as the perfect image of the Logos, is neither man nor woman, but an incorporeal intelligence ... ("Adam Kadmon")

Baphomet ... first appeared in 11th and 12th century Latin and Provençal as a corruption of "Muhammad", but later it appeared as a term for a pagan idol in trial transcripts of the Inquisition of the Knights Templar in the early 14th century. ("Baphomet")

Crowley said that Baphomet was representative of the Babe in the Egg, or the original being, which was bisexual, and symbolized "arcane perfection" ... (Thelemapedia)

In Islamic theology, al-Insān al-Kāmil (الإنسان الكامل, also rendered as İnsan-ı Kamil انسانِ كامل - in Persian and Turkish), is a term used as an honorific title to describe Muhammad. It is an Arabic phrase meaning "the person who has reached perfection."[1] It is an important concept in Islamic culture of the prototype human being, pure consciousness, one's true identity, to be contrasted with the material human who is bound by one's senses and materialism. The term is particularly used by Sufis,[2] such as Ibn Arabi,[2] who based this on the Hadith. ("Al-Insān al-Kāmil")

The idea of the Perfect Human Being may best be understood in the Sufi paradigm that depicts the human race as taking its origin from God in cosmic descent and returning to God in mystic ascent. The crucial figure at the origin, apex and goal of this descent-ascent paradigm is the Perfect Human Being, who (1) has realized his virtual and essential oneness with God in whose likeness he is made, (2) has experienced God in the very act of his own self- consciousness, which provides him with the certitude of faith in his own immortality, and (3) has achieved the highest standard of moral perfection through ethical conduct and ascetic discipline, establishing him as a friend of God (walīy), equal in rank to the prophets. Seen in this perspective, the Ensān-e kāmel constitutes the core of Sufism, the theoretical synthesis of its philosophy and mysticism and the practical ideal of its ethics and asceticism. The Cosmic Man crucified on the Zodiac

Though deathless and possessed of sway o’er all, yet doth he suffer as a mortal doth, subject to Fate [i.e., astral determinism, astrology].  Thus though above the Harmony, within the Harmony he hath become a slave. Though male-female, as from a Father male-female, and though he’s sleepless from a sleepless [Sire], yet is he overcome [by sleep]. (Poemandres)

Researching Unicorns this morning, motivated partly by a dream I had a month ago and partly because of noticing that the image posted above showing the astrological correspondences to the human form - with the knees being associated to Capricorn by the symbol of the Unicorn in this case rather than the usual symbol of the GOAT.

My dream in short: my husband giving a drunken and mischievous Harrison Ford the KEY to our locked room, where he proceeded to steal my UNICORN and my husband's coat...

This video came up when, on a whim, I searched for "Rihanna Unicorn"
